My goal with this guide is to provide you a simple approach to helping young athletes build muscle, by the end of this book you will have a great understanding of what you need to do to build muscle and how to actually do it. This book is aimed at young athletes/adults who are between 13-17 years of age.

You probably already have a good idea of the importance of proper nutrition to build muscle. In this book, I am going to emphasise what it actually takes to maximize muscle growth with nutrition.
To ensure your body is primed for maximal muscle growth you need to do three things:
1. Provide your body with enough calories to support muscle growth
2. Take in the required amount of protein, fats and carbs to support muscle gains, training and hormonal health
3. Ensure optimal amounts of key vitamins and minerals are included in your diet to support training, recovery and health
4. Participate in a strength training program, this would be with external loading (weights) or just bodyweight only.
