JuniorGym Academy: Building Strength, Confidence & Healthy Habits for Kids 10–15
JuniorGym Academy is a small-group strength and movement program for 10–15-year-olds in Clarence Gardens. Your child gets 12 or 20 flexible sessions to use at their own pace and will get measurably stronger, faster and more confident using our 4-level band system, or we train them next program for free.
Strength Training for Active Kids
Strength training is one of the safest and most effective ways to help kids build strong, resilient bodies for sport and life. When it is coached properly and progressed at the right pace, kids move better, get faster, and are less likely to get injured.
We focus on proper technique, building strength, and developing body awareness to support athletic performance and lifelong fitness. Resistance training isn't just for athletes—it's essential for injury prevention, confidence, and overall well-being.
JuniorGym Academy gives your child this advantage in a structured program with expert coaches, clear levels and parent reports.

Is Your Child Missing This Key Advantage?
Strength and movement training is one of the most effective ways to help kids grow into strong, capable, and confident young athletes. Without it, many children struggle more than they need to.
Does any of this sound familiar?
❌ Too much screen time, not enough movement
❌ Low confidence in sport or PE classes
❌ Frequently injured or sore after games
❌ Wants to improve but doesn’t know how
Our coaches use age-appropriate strength methods to help your child get stronger, move better, and build resilience—in sport and in life.
JuniorGym Academy gives them that missing piece – proper strength and movement coaching in small groups, so they can train with confidence instead of guessing.
Why Parents Choose JuniorGym Academy
🏆 Improved Body Awareness: Learn to control movements better, which is essential for both performance and injury prevention.
⚡️ Increased Speed and Agility: Drills and exercises specifically designed to boost on-field performance.
💪 Strength & Power Development: Foundational strength training to build muscle and enhance athletic performance.
🛡️ Injury Prevention: Exercises that strengthen joints, muscles, and ligaments to reduce the risk of common sports injuries.
🎯
Progression & Rewards: Kids move through 4 levels (White → Yellow → Green → Black), earning sweatbands as they improve. This simple system keeps them motivated, gives parents clear milestones, and makes progress fun and rewarding. Behind the scenes we track four key pillars – movement quality, strength, explosive ability, and consistency/effort – so you can see exactly how and where they are improving.

How the JuniorGym Academy Works
Step 1: Strength and Movement Assessment
We start with a simple assessment so we can see how your child moves, what feels strong, and what needs support. They do age-appropriate tests for movement, basic strength and speed, and we place them in the right band level (White, Yellow, Green or Black). You receive a short written report with their starting point and goals.
Step 2: Flexible Small-Group Strength Sessions (1–2x per week)
Your child joins our JuniorGym Academy sessions using either 12 (Core) or 20 (Plus) session credits. You can book any JuniorGym Academy times that suit your week, rather than being locked into the same day and time. We recommend 1–2 sessions per week. Every session is coached and adapted to their level, focusing on four key areas: movement quality, strength, explosive ability, and consistency/effort.
Step 3: Re-test, Sweatband Graduation and Next Step
In Week 10, we repeat key tests so you can see their progress clearly. If they meet the standards for the next level, they earn a new sweatband in class and we update your parent report. In Weeks 11–12 we keep training, and if you want to continue, we help you choose the right Core or Plus block for the next term.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my child is sick or unavailable and cannot make a class?
We understand that things come up! You can reschedule your class up to 30 minutes before the session starts without any cancellation fees.
How many kids are in a class?
Each class has up to 10-12 kids, ensuring a great balance of group energy and individual attention.
How many trainers per class?
Our classes maintain a 5-6 kids per trainer ratio to provide proper guidance and supervision.
Is strength training safe for kids?
Yes! Strength training is safe and highly beneficial for kids when done correctly. Our program focuses on proper technique, controlled progression, and age-appropriate exercises to improve strength, coordination, and injury prevention. Studies show that supervised strength training helps kids build confidence and athletic ability while reducing injury risks.
What is the minimum age?
Kids must be at least 10 years old to join the program.
Is this program just for boys, or can girls join too?
Girls are absolutely welcome and encouraged to join! While more boys tend to sign up initially, about 20–30% of our participants are girls — and they get just as much out of it.
Strength, confidence, and body awareness are important for everyone, and we love seeing girls thrive in the program.
What if my child has never done strength training before?
That’s completely fine! Our program is designed for all experience levels. The Academy Core\Plus programs all start with an initial assessment to ensure each child learns the correct technique and progresses safely.
What should my child bring to class?
Please bring a water bottle, comfortable gym clothes, and sports shoes. All equipment is provided at the gym.
How long is each session?
Each session runs for 50-60 minutes, depending on the training focus for the day.
What kind of exercises will my child be doing?
We focus on age-appropriate strength training, speed drills, agility work, and movement fundamentals. Exercises include bodyweight movements, light weights and sled work, all performed with proper technique and supervision.
Will this make my child bulky?
No, kids do not develop bulky muscles like adults. Instead, strength training helps improve coordination, power, endurance, and injury prevention, making them stronger and more confident athletes.
Do parents need to stay during the session?
No, parents do not need to stay. However, you are welcome to watch from the sidelines if you’d like.

How does the band system work?
Every child in JuniorGym Academy is placed into one of four band levels: White, Yellow, Green or Black. At their first session we do a simple assessment of four key areas: movement quality, strength, explosive ability, and consistency/effort. Based on this, we choose the right starting band. As they use their Academy sessions, we coach and track them against those same four pillars. After a period of consistent training (usually once they are close to the end of their 12 or 20 sessions) we re-test and, if they meet the standards for the next level, they earn a new sweatband in class and we update your parent report.
What is the visible progress guarantee?
We back JuniorGym Academy with a visible progress or next program free guarantee. If your child attends the majority of their booked Academy sessions over their program and does not show visible progress in at least two of the four key areas we track (movement quality, strength, explosive ability, consistency and effort), you can choose either a free set of Academy sessions at the same level (Core or Plus) or a full refund of your program fee. In simple terms: if they show up and train consistently but do not improve, we will make it right.
What is the difference between JuniorGym Academy and Group Classes?
JuniorGym Academy is our structured progression program. It includes an initial assessment, band level placement, a set number of flexible sessions (Core or Plus), progress re-testing, parent reports and the visible progress guarantee. You can book any JuniorGym Academy times that suit your week, rather than being locked into one fixed slot.
Our JuniorGym Group Classes are more casual supervised sessions. They are great if you just want your child to move more or try things out, but they do not include the assessment, band pathway, progress reports or guarantee that come with the Academy.
