Strength & Performance Coach - Join The D8 Training Team
We are looking for a coach who loves strength, coaching people properly, and wants a long term home in a serious but friendly gym.
About D8 Training
D8 Training is a strength and conditioning gym in Clarence Gardens that coaches kids, athletes, adults and over 60s. We run structured small group strength programs, with proper progressions, real testing and a strong coaching culture. We are not a cheap bootcamp. We are a coaching gym for people who want to get genuinely stronger, move better, and stay in the game for the long term.
About The Role
As a Strength & Performance Coach at D8 Training, you will coach small group strength sessions across our main streams - JuniorGym, Athlete, Adult Group Strength and our ForeverStrength program for over 60s. You will also have opportunities to take on 1-on-1 clients. Your job is to run high quality sessions, keep people safe, know their names, and help them get stronger and more confident over time.
- Coach small group strength sessions for kids, teens, adults and over 60s
- Deliver occasional 1-on-1 sessions as your client base grows
- Help members feel welcome, supported and challenged at the right level
- Contribute to a positive, professional floor culture
Availability And Hours
This is a casual role starting at approximately 13-15 hours per week, with a clear path to more classes and 1-on-1 sessions within 3-6 months for the right coach.
You must be available for:
- 2-3 afternoons per week between 4:00pm and 8:00pm
- 2-3 mornings per week between 9:00am and 12:00pm
Exact sessions will be discussed at interview.

Key Responsibilities
- Coach group strength sessions to D8 Training standards
- Deliver high quality 1-on-1 sessions when required
- Open and close the gym using our standard operating procedures (for relevant shifts)
- Keep the gym clean, tidy and ready for members
- Meet with prospective and current members to discuss goals using our existing templates
- Capture training footage and member wins, and contribute to D8 social media content as directed (we will provide guidance and structure)

What Success Looks Like In This Role
- Members feel coached, looked after and challenged in your sessions
- High session quality and strong, consistent member feedback
- Good retention of the members you coach
- You generate at least 1 new paying client per month through referrals, reputation or your own network
- You consistently invest at least 1 hour per week into learning and improving as a coach
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer) or equivalent
- Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Legal right to work in Australia
Nice to Have
- Previous coaching experience in a gym or S&C environment
- Familiarity with strength training and ATG principles
- Experience working with kids, athletes or over 60s
