10 questions Adelaide parents should ask any gym before sending their child
Letting your 10–15-year-old train in a gym is a big deal.
Here are 10 questions you should ask any facility (including us) offering kids strength training in Adelaide:
- How many kids per coach in each session?
- Do you assess my child before they join a group?
- How do you decide what exercises they're allowed to do?
- How do you keep track of what they're lifting?
- How do you handle injuries or pain mid-session?
- What qualifications and experience do your coaches have with kids?
- How do you communicate progress back to parents?
- How do you handle behaviour or safety issues?
- What happens if my child misses sessions?
- Is there a clear pathway after this program?
If a junior gym in Adelaide can't answer these clearly, be careful.
How we answer them at D8
In JuniorGym Academy, our youth strength training in Adelaide:
- We cap groups and maintain safe ratios
- Every child is assessed before joining
- We use age-appropriate progressions, not "mini-adult" programs
- We track sessions and loads
- We communicate with parents and provide testing/retesting where needed
- We have a clear pathway into the Athlete program when they're ready
Want to run us through these questions yourself?
