The 4 types of people we see at D8 (and how each one succeeds)
You're not alone in how you feel about training.
We tend to see four "types" of adults walk into D8:
- The Restart-Er -- "I've tried before, fallen off, now I'm back."
- The Nervous Beginner -- "I've never really done this."
- The Quiet Worker -- "Just tell me what to do and I'll do it."
- The Former Athlete -- "I used to be fit; now I feel miles off."
How each one wins
The Restart-Er:
Key: Don't chase "making up for lost time."
Win: Commit to 2–3 strength training classes in Adelaide for 12 weeks. No extremes.
The Nervous Beginner:
Key: Ask questions, accept being new.
Win: Focus on learning movements, not loads.
The Quiet Worker:
Key: Communicate more. Tell coaches what you're feeling.
Win: Let us adjust your plan so you don't quietly overdo it.
The Former Athlete:
Key: Let go of old numbers at first.
Win: Rebuild a base in adult strength training in Adelaide, then chase performance once your body remembers how to move well.
Where you fit at D8
We've built Adult Group Strength to give all four types:
- A clear plan
- Coaching that meets them where they're at
- A path to progress that doesn't require obsession
