You’re training. You’re trying. But results are slow.
Often it’s not one big mistake, but a few quiet ones adding up.
Mistake 1: "Healthy" snacks all day
Nuts, protein bars, “healthy” muesli, smoothies… They add up fast.
Fix: Plan real meals first (protein + veg + smart carbs), then add 1–2 intentional snacks, not 5.
Mistake 2: Weekend blowouts
Perfect Mon–Thu, then:
- Takeaway Fri
- Drinks Sat
- Grazing Sun
One big weekend can erase a week’s deficit.
Fix: Decide your “nonnegotiables” (e.g. 2 drinks + 1 takeaway) and keep the rest simple.
Mistake 3: Not enough protein
Low protein means:
- Harder to keep muscle
- Hungrier
- More cravings
Aim to include a decent protein source each meal.
Mistake 4: Liquid calories
Soft drinks, juices, iced coffees, “healthy” juices.
Fix: Pick where they matter (e.g. one nice coffee) and swap the rest to water / zero sugar options.
Mistake 5: No plan for busy days
When life is chaotic, food becomes:
- Whatever is closest
- Whatever the kids leave
- Whatever is in the vending machine
Fix: Have 2–3 backup options you can grab fast (e.g. rotisserie chicken + salad bag, frozen meals you trust).
